| The 2011 Scion tC comes in just one trim level from the factory and buyers can choose to equip it with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed sequential automatic transmission.
Power comes from a new 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with dual variable valve timing. The unit produces 180 hp and 173 ft-lb of torque, making plenty of power at the first stomp of the gas.
The tC benefits from MacPherson front, while the rear utilizes an independent double-wishbone system. Steering is quick thanks to electronically assisted rack-and-pinion power steering.
Standard features include power mirrors, windows and locks, a tilt/telescopic steering wheel with audio and cruise controls, sport seats, a 60/40 split folding rear seat, keyless entry, panoramic power moonroof and an 8-speaker Pioneer audio system with USB port and iPod connectivity.

| The Scion tC hatchback coupe is completely new inside and out for 2011. Exterior styling features sharper edges all around, while the interior has been thoughtfully redesigned to accommodate both driver and passengers even better than it did in the previous generation. A new 2.5L 4-cylinder engine powers the tC, generating 179 hp, which is 19 more ponies than the car it replaces. The unit is mated to either a new 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed automatic.
According to the EPA, the new tC promises 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, with a base price starting at $18,275. |
